EmailOctopus

EmailOctopus allows you to nurture your audience, cultivate brand loyalty, and drive sales. For those seeking to maximize the capabilities of email marketing, the integration of EmailOctopus with Payhip offers a powerful solution. This guide will walk you through the steps to connect EmailOctopus with Payhip.

Step 1: Access your EmailOctopus Account

Prior to connecting EmailOctopus to Payhip, you must have an EmailOctopus account. If you don't have one yet, you can easily create a free account. However, if you already have an account with them, you can log into your existing EmailOctopus account.

Step 2: Generate your API Key

For Payhip to interact with your EmailOctopus account, you'll need to produce an API key.

To do this, navigate to your EmailOctopus dashboard and click on your name in the upper right corner. A drop-down menu will emerge, allowing access to "Integrations & API" settings.

Within the Developer Tools section, you'll find an API section. Clicking on the "Manage" button will display your existing API keys and allow you to generate a new one specifically for Payhip. Upon selecting the "Create key" button, you'll be asked to provide a name to easily identify the connection you're creating.

Please copy and securely store the generated key because it cannot be retrieved from your EmailOctopus account once generated.

Step 3: Connect EmailOctopus to Payhip

Now that you possess the API key, it's time to establish the connection between Payhip and EmailOctopus.

To initiate the process, go to your Payhip Marketing page and navigate your way to the Mailing Lists tab. Once you click the "Setup Mailing Lists" button, this will prompt a window where you can choose EmailOctopus as your email service provider and enter your API key.

Step 4: Set up your mailing lists

Once the connection has been established, please remember that you still need to create a mailing list within EmailOctopus. This can be accomplished within your EmailOctopus account and by clicking on Lists.

In order to link a particular mailing list to each product, please enable the "Automatic customer subscription to a mailing list" feature. You can find this setting when editing a product, specifically the Advanced Options. This allows automatic customer subscription to the designated mailing list following every successful purchase.

Step 5: Verify the Integration

Doing a test purchase is a good way to make sure EmailOctopus and Payhip are working together. If they are linked, you'll see a notification on your dashboard stating, "You have successfully connected mailing lists for EmailOctopus.
