Kit (Previously ConvertKit)
Kit is an email platform designed for online creators and entrepreneurs to assist with their email marketing efforts. By connecting Kit to your Payhip account, you can effortlessly add customers to your mailing list after each purchase.
In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to connect Kit with Payhip.
Step 1: Access your Kit Account
Before integrating Kit with Payhip, you need to have a Kit account. If you already have one, please log in to your Kit account.
Step 2: Generate your API Key
You'll need to generate an API key from your Kit account to establish the connection between Kit and Payhip.
To do that, click your account profile on your Kit dashboard. A dropdown menu will appear where you can select " Settings" to access your account settings page. Find the "Developer" tab in the left sidebar in the settings section. This is where you'll find your API key.
Please make sure to use V3 keys from Kit, as these are specifically intended for third-party integrations.
Step 3: Connect Kit to Payhip
Now that you have your API key, it's time to connect it to your Payhip account.
Visit your Marketing page and access the Mailing Lists tab. Clicking the "Setup Mailing Lists" button will trigger a modal to appear. From there, you'll be prompted to select an email service provider and enter your API key.
Step 4: Set up your mailing lists
To get started, create a mailing list within Kit, which they refer to as " Forms" in their platform. After creating the forms, we'll be able to retrieve and display them as mailing lists on Payhip.
To assign a specific mailing list for each product, you will have to enable the " Automatic customer subscription to a mailing list" setting. This will allow you to automatically subscribe customers to that mailing list after every successful purchase.
Please be sure to finalize your changes by clicking the " Save Changes" button located at the bottom of the page. This guarantees that when a customer buys this product, they will automatically join the mailing list you've selected.
Step 5: Verify the Integration
It's always a good practice to perform a test purchase to validate the connection between Kit and Payhip. If the integration between both platforms is successful, you'll receive a notification on your dashboard stating, " You have successfully connected mailing lists for ConvertKit."
Please note that Kit may have specific settings that could prevent your subscribers from being included in your mailing list. These settings may include double opt-in requirements or the need for customer verification before counting them as subscribers.
