Step 1: Access your MailChimp Account
The initial step is to set up a MailChimp account if you're not yet registered. If you already use MailChimp, you can proceed by signing in to your existing account.
Step 2: Generate your API Key
To create a connection between Mailchimp and Payhip, you'll have to produce an API key within your Mailchimp account. This key plays a vital role as the bridge that enables effective communication between these two platforms.
To accomplish this, navigate to your profile in MailChimp and proceed to the Extras page. Continue scrolling until you reach the section labeled "Your API keys."
Within this section, you'll spot a button that allows you to create an API key for Payhip, and it will guide you through the necessary steps of generating one.
Please note that you will only see the full API key immediately after generating it in MailChimp, so you will need to save it somewhere secure first or use it to connect to Payhip immediately.
Step 3: Connect MailChimp to Payhip
To link your MailChimp and Payhip account, follow these simple steps.
Start by going to your Marketing page in Payhip, and make your way to the "Mailing Lists" tab. Next, click on the "Setup Mailing Lists" button, and you will be shown a list of available email services. Select MailChimp from the list and paste your MailChimp API key.
Step 4: Set up your mailing lists
To make the most of this integration, you will have to create mailing lists within your Mailchimp account, which they refer to as "Segments". These lists will be used to organize and segment your subscribers effectively, as you'll be able to link them to specific products on Payhip.
To associate a specific mailing list with each product, you must activate the "Automatic customer subscription to a mailing list" setting. This options ensures that customers are added to that segment after every successful purchase automatically.
Step 5: Verify the Integration
As a best practice, please perform a test purchase to ensure the successful integration of Mailchimp with Payhip.
