Add Chat to Your Payhip Store
Adding chat to your Payhip store is a great way to connect with your customers and have them ask any final questions they may have before purchasing from you.
This article will show you how to quickly and easily add chat to every page of your Payhip store. (If you’d like to only add it to a specific page, you can follow the instructions in this article.)
Please note that to use this feature, you will need to be using a custom domain for your store (e.g. yourstorename.com rather than payhip.com). You can find instructions on how to set up a custom domain here.
How to install chat on your Payhip store
You can add chat to your Payhip store in two quick steps:
Step 1. Get the embed code
The first step is to find and copy the embed code for your chat app of choice. There are tons of options out there - just search for e.g. “live chat embed” and pick the one you like.
Somewhere on the chat app’s website you should see an option to install the app, which will give you the embed code that you need to copy and paste into Payhip.
Step 2. Add the code to your store
Now that you’ve copied the code, you’ll want to paste it into your store header. To do that:
- Log into your Payhip account.
- Launch the store builder by going to Store in the top navigation bar, then clicking Launch Your Store Builder (or by clicking Account > Store Builder).
- Click Change store style at the bottom left of your screen.
- Click Advanced and find Footer HTML/JS Code Injection
- Paste in your chat embed code.
- Publish your changes.
Embedded code cannot be previewed in the store builder, so you’ll want to visit your live store to see your widget in action.
