Switching Themes
Introduction
We have a number of themes available for you to choose from so that you can select the best theme that matches your branding. However all themes are just a starting point - you can fully customise them to suit your needs.
When switching from one theme to another, there are some important considerations you need to be aware of. Firstly lets explain how you can switch themes.
How to switch themes
- Visit your store builder
- Click on the Change store style button on the left side of the page
- Then click on the Themes link
- Next click on the Switch to another theme button
Important considerations
When you switch theme you will lose the colors and fonts you've configured for your existing theme. These colors and fonts will be cleared, as well as any custom CSS you've added.
There are two types of section widths, full width and inset. For sections on your store which have a full width we will clear the color scheme that's been applied to that section.
However you will never lose the content on any of your sections, the only change you'll notice after switching theme is how it looks like.
I've switched theme but I want to go back
It's not the end of the road if you've just switched to a new theme but want to revert back to your previous store.
From the store builder you'll notice that you can save changes as a draft, and finally you can publish changes you've previously saved.
The published version of your store is what everyone who visits your store sees, and the draft version of your store is where you can safely make changes without it affecting your published store.
What you can do if you'd like to go back to the previous state of your store before the theme switch is to clear the draft version of your store back to the published version. Here are the steps:
- Visit your store builder
- Click on the Change store style button on the left side of the page
- Then click on the Advanced link
- Scroll all the way down and then click on the Discard draft store changes button
Please note: You should only discard draft store changes if you're absolutely sure that you'd like to roll back the published version of your store. You will lose all the changes in the draft version of your store.
