Beta Content Editor

The Content Editor is a beta version of the download page editor in Payhip.

It allows sellers to create a more flexible and modern experience for customers after purchase. For example, adding formatted text, embedded videos, or multiple download pages instead of just simple file listings.

Switching to the Beta Content Editor

  1. Go to your Products dashboard on Payhip.
  2. Click Edit next to your digital product.
  3. Go to the Contents tab.
  4. In the top-right corner, toggle on Beta content editor.
  5. The switch will turn green with a checkmark when it’s active.

How can I make the most of the Content Editor?

With the Content Editor, you can easily customize your download page by adding useful information or additional resources for your customers.

Example 1: Add Notes or Disclaimers

In this example, we used the Content Editor to add a short thank-you note, the download link for the eBook, and a quick reminder that they purchased a digital product. We also included a support email so customers can easily reach out if they need help. It's a straightforward way to present your eBook or other digital downloads.

Example 2: Add a Step-by-Step Guide

For this one, we used the Content Editor to add a section to make the download page feel more personal and easy to follow. We added the same thank-you message, the main brush set download, and a short video that walks customers through the installation and use of the brushes. There's also a quick note about compatibility. It's a great setup for creative products that could use a bit of extra guidance right on the page.

Of course, these are just some of the things you can do with this feature. Since the Content Editor is fully customizable, it allows you to tailor your download pages to your needs and create a seamless experience for your customers.

How will the new download page appear to my customers?

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I preview the download page?

You can preview your download page directly from the editor before publishing. This allows you to review how customers will see the page after purchase. However, if you want to see the actual download page, you can make a test purchase. This will automatically trigger an email receipt with a link to the new version of the page.

What are the file limits for uploading a product in the editor?

Each individual file can be up to 5GB in size. If you need to share larger files, we recommend splitting them into smaller parts or hosting externally and embedding the links.

Can I include links to other products or pages?

Yes, you can add links to direct customers to external pages or other pages within your store.

Will changes to the download page affect previous buyers?

Yes, customers who previously received a download link will be automatically redirected to the new version of the page. The update applies to all customers who have access to that product.
