General Information
You can connect Square to your Payhip store to accept card payments for selling digital products online.
Which countries is Square available in?
Square is available in Australia, Canada, France, Ireland, Japan, Spain, United Kingdom, and the United States.
Note that the currency used in your Payhip account must match the currency in your Square account.
What are the payment methods available on Square?
Square accepts any US-issued and most internationally-issued magstripe or chip cards. Availability of specific payment methods may vary by country, so certain options might not be offered in all supported locations.
Square fees - how much money does Square take per transaction?
The standard Square fee for online credit card transactions is 2.8% + $0.30 per transaction. Please check Square’s pricing page for the latest updates. There are no chargeback fees. Note that these fees are collected by Square and do not go to Payhip.
How to connect Square to your eCommerce store
To start selling online, make sure you’ve signed up for a free Payhip account. In your Payhip dashboard, go to Account → Settings → Payment Details. You’ll see a list of payment gateways available in your region, including Square (if it’s available to you).
Note that the default currency that you set on your Payhip account must match the currency on your Square account.
Click Connect and you’ll be presented with the screen where you can add your Application ID and Access Token.
To find this information please take the following steps on your Square account:
1) Login to your Square account
2) Visit your Developer Console page and click on the "+" button
3) You'll then be asked to name your application
4) Afterwards when the application has been created click on the Open button
5) On the following page, click on the Production tab
6) Now you can copy the Application ID and the Access Token and paste them into the corresponding fields on your Payhip dashboard.
After you've submitted the above information on your Payhip account you'll be shown that Square was successfully connected.

FAQ
How do I get my payouts from Square?
Square payments are processed instantly, so you receive funds immediately after each transaction. Square payments work a little differently compared to Stripe or PayPal on Payhip. You will get your full payment (without Payhip fees deducted) instantly after each transaction has been processed. At the end of each month, you’ll be billed for your Payhip fees using your preferred credit card.
What will my customers see at checkouts?
Once your Square account is connected to Payhip, customers visiting your storefront will see the Buy with card option at checkout. They do not need to have a Square account to purchase, they can make payments with their preferred payment methods (debit card, credit cards, etc).
